World Armwrestling Federation (WAF) application to become a FISU – the International University Sports Federation, recognised sport has been unanimously approved.
FISU is officially attributing the status of FISU recognised sport to the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF).
FISU recognised sports gather lnternational Federations that are of interest to the University Sports Movement. Events organised in these sports may be endorsed by FISU and may be included in the programme of the FISU World University Games.
Armwrestling it is now official sport and may become one of the favourites during the national student games in more than 170 countries where FISU it is represented worldwide. WAF will organize the Continental and World University Armwrestling Championships.
In April this year, during the SportAccord Convention WAF will meet the FISU President Mr. Oleg Matytsin in order to sign the cooperation agreement and to discuss future cooperation opportunities for Armwrestling inclusion into the FISU famous world events.
