Para Armwrestling Debuts at Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games
The Para Armwrestling competition at the Asian Youth Para Games Dubai 2025 was held on 11 December 2025, marking a historic milestone for the sport.
This event represents the first official inclusion of para armwrestling in the Asian Youth Para Games, organized in cooperation with the Asian Paralympic Committee, Asian Armwrestling Federation and National Paralympic Committees, confirms the growing recognition of the discipline within the Paralympic movement.
A total of 63 athletes from 9 countries competed in Dubai, across sitting, standing and visually impaired categories, for both men and women, on left and right arms.
In total, the competition registered approximately 110 entries (left and right arm), resulting in around 220 matches, reflecting both the scale of participation and the competitive depth of the event.
The competition delivered a strong technical level and highly competitive matches, highlighting the development of young athletes and the continued expansion of para armwrestling in Asia.
This milestone marks the beginning of a structured and long-term collaboration with the continental Paralympic Committees, reinforcing the commitment of the World Armwrestling Federation to integrate the sport within the Paralympic framework.
It represents an important step forward in the pathway toward future inclusion within the Paralympic Games programme, with a long-term vision focused on Brisbane 2032.
